Enjoy the beauty of the Frances B. Montgomery Memorial Garden
"Each morning, Mrs. Montgomery would drive her station wagon down Hill Street usually arriving in the Village with a bucket of fresh cut flowers and various divided plants from her own garden."
In 1968, Edward and Frances Montgomery began the restoration of the old buildings of Roscoe. Mrs. Montgomery (b.1908- d.1989) made further contributions to the improved look of Roscoe through her love of gardening. She participated in the creation of many of the gardens you see today and transplanted starts of her favorite plants from her beds at home. It was therefore a fitting tribute to her to include the dedication of a special garden as part of the Visitor Center dedication in April 1992. This garden was named the Frances B. Montgomery Memorial Garden.
