History of the Roscoe Hotel - c.1856
This canal era hotel was built by Arnold Medbery to replace the earlier, wood framed hotel (built c. 1832) that burned. The hotel was a stagecoach stop and is thought to been a stop on the Underground Railroad. It had businesses on the ground floor, sleeping rooms above and a ballroom on the 3rd floor.
Today this historical building is the home of Medbery Marketplace. They offer deli meats and cheeses from surrounding Amish country, gourmet foods, International food items, bulk snacks, nuts, chocolates, kitchen items and much more. Medbery Marketplace is a local favorite!
