Thomas Wilson Building - 1850

Thomas Wilson Building in Historic Roscoe Village

Thomas Wilson was the owner of a carding mill, salt house, and a cooper shop along the lower canal basin. This historic building was originally two structures and become one in 1887.

Today, this building is the home of The Cottage Gate.  This charming shop offers cottage-style accessories for every season, including: tapestries, wall art, pillows, throws, and many handmade items from floral to small oak furniture, primitives and Americana.
