Welcome Adult Tour Groups! --- to a quaint 1800's restored Canal Town where you can spend an entire day or just make it a stop while passing through.  Roscoe Village offers a host of tours, wine tastings, food demonstrations, a horse-drawn canal boat ride, unique shopping, fun festivals and fine dining.  We also offer a few costumed characters you may want to take a Canal Boat ride with or have a visit from while you are dining for a little historical fun!

Group Rates

Group Rates apply to groups of 10 or more.  Tour groups may receive 1 comp for driver & 1 comp for escort.

What’s It - $6.00 per adult

Sit back and relax as you interact with one of our costumed interpreters as they present an array of tools, utensils and instruments which would have been used in our 1800's canal town. After seeing the items, guests will be asked the magical question "What's It?" and will have the opportunity to make a guess. The answer will be revealed along with a brief history of its function.  Each guest will take home a Village souvenir.

The Canal Town Tour - $8.60 per adult

Listen as the costumed interpreters tell the stories of the Canal Era and some of the residents that lived and worked in this village that became a bustling town in the early 1800s.  Enjoy the rich history and reconstruction of some of the buildings in our Village - experience a bit of life in the Canal Era.

*Mini Canal Trades Tour (1 hour)-$6.50 per adult: (*Subject to availability) This mini tour is located solely in the Hay Craft Learning Center and includes the broom maker, printer, cooper and weaver exhibits.

*Mini Canal Town Tour (1 hour)-$6.50 per adult: This tour encompasses four areas - The Doctor's house, the Doctor's office, the one-room Schoolhouse and the Crafter's house.

Garden Tours (1 hour guided tour) - $5.00 per adult

Enjoy a guided tour through the beautiful gardens of Roscoe Village.  Learn about Mrs. Francis Montgomery, one of the Co-founders, and the history of the gardens.  A guide from our Landscape Department will share pictures, tools, plant labels and more during the tour.  At the completion of the tour, you may take home a living memory in the form of plants or seeds.

The Spirit of Roscoe Tour (lamp lit tour - 1-1/2 hours) - $9.60 per adult

Learn about our "spirited" canal town through the stories of long ago personalities regarding significant events and curiosities. Hear about Roscoe's firebug, the tragedy at the hotel and the horrible tale of the blood-stained Bible.  Sense the spirit of fear of a cholera epidemic and experience the danger and humor of being a post boy. Join us on this special evening adventure...if you DARE!!!  Available Thursdays-Saturdays the month of October. (Specialty Tour)

A Roscoe Christmas Tour (1-1/2 hours - November 1st through Dec. 31st) - $9.60 per adult

Christmas cards, toys, treats, "visions of sugarplums", and letters to Santa. Learn how these holiday traditions were practiced in the 1800's. You'll receive Christmas treats and many warm memories to take home with you!  (Specialty Tour)

Hands-On Crafts (Visitor Center) - $2.75 per craft

Tin punching, candle dipping, rope making, paint a wooden top or make a leather bracelet.  Allow 30 minutes per craft.  Please select the same activity for your entire group.

Monticello III Canal Boat Ride - $7.00 per adult (regular run) or $250.00 per charter

Comp for Driver and Escort on regular runs for groups of 10 or more

Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum Tours - $3.00 per adult (self-guided)  $3.50 per adult (guided with a minimum charge of $50.00)
